I'm almost positive it's not because of the ioRTCW sourceport. In the meantime, I'll keep trying to troubleshoot this.
Running the game temporarily in windowed mode bypasses some of these crash instances. It's possible that if, prior to downloading ioRTCW, you were tinkering with the wolfconfig file in the RTCW folder, that it would cause the game the crash at certain points, notably the end of the Tram Ride level where you meet Kessler. Its the fifth game released in the Wolfenstein series, but while its primarily an FPS like its two immediate predecessors, stealth is often an option (and sometimes the only option) to complete missions, more like the first. Then, load up the level again and see if it crashes there again. Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a 2001 first-person shooter (FPS) set during World War II. My next possible solution would be to run the game in windowed mode (select Fullscreen: No from your in-game System Options), and in a normal resolution like 640x480. It's bugging me that I can't remember what was causing that same bug you're having and how I remedied it. Yeah, the Venom Mod will always crash for me every time at 2 or 3 specific moments during the campaign, the first of which being around the same area in the same level that you're having your problem. Maybe I should search for log files that can give more information about the problem and its causes. Tell me more about that mod, and what causes the game to crash. Powered by the Quake III Arena engine, it features a single-player campaign and team-based online multiplayer. I do not have any mods installed, Only ioRtCW source port of the latest version 1.51b. Originally released in 2001, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is an action/horror first-person shooter, and reboot of the Wolfenstein series. It seems that whenever I encounter any crashes in RTCW, it always has to do with the Venom Mod, so let me know if that's a possibility.
I'll try and see if I can recreate it in the meantime, but my first stab at it is:ĭo you have the Venom Mod installed? If so, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the problem because when I have Venom Mod installed, my game always crashes when you open the door right next to those stairs in the same Airbase level. I replay the campaign a lot with various mods and such installed at any given time, but I just tested it on my Windows 10 圆4 laptop with ioRTCW installed, and there was no crash. Right when you turn that corner, there's 3 or 4 Nazis coming up the stairs, and then the game will crash.
